Conclusion
Conclusion
My hypothesis stated that the DC-3 airplane would fly the farthest, but the airplane did not fly the farthest. The DC-3 flew the fourth farthest distance with an average of 164". My hypothesis was incorrect because the DC-3 did not fly the farthest. The Flying Fish airplane flew the farthest average distance of 174". On the back half of the DC-3 there was a tail that hung off of the edge, which made the airplane gradually fly to the left or right. The Flying Fish had two wings on each side of the airplane. One wing was in the front and the other wing was in the back. The Flying Fish airplane flew in a straight line gradually decreasing in altitude. I would highly recommend this project to anyone who likes aviation or likes to learn new things every day.
Results
Results
While I conducted my experiment, I recorded my data. I made a data table that had the airplane type, the distance that the airplane traveled for all 4 trials, and average distance traveled. The plane that traveled the farthest average distance was the Flying Fish airplane, 174". The plane that traveled the least average distance was the Worst Ever airplane, 30.5".

Experimentation Day
Experiment Day
Today, I have conducted my experiment by flying airplanes, recording the distance they traveled, and finding the average distance traveled. I built all of my airplanes from all of the previous online links. I threw the airplanes from an upstairs location in my house. I used the same method of throwing each airplane to reduce variability. This project was very exciting because I got to observe how far the planes traveled.

I made an animotto that is called airplanes. I used http://www.google.com/ to find the websites listed above. While I conducted my project, I took pictures and imported them onto the computer for the short video. For my experiment, I used paper, pencil, scissors, and tape to make the paper airplanes. I used a digital camera for taking pictures. I used a 25' tape measure to measure the distance the plane traveled.

Hypothesis
According to my research, the DC-3 plane will fly the farthest of 10 different paper airplane designs. Two websites said that The DC-3 plane has flown the fastest and farthest. The plane designs consist of the Cobra, Rapier, Flying Fish, Origami 3, Worst Ever, Second Origami, Classic Dart, Floating Airplane, Deltry, and the DC-3 paper airplanes.
